Last updated: October 2, 2026 · Effective: October 2, 2026
This policy explains how FAMO Connect LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects consumer health data through the Yumizo app (the “app”), and the rights you have over it. It is written to meet the Washington My Health My Data Act (RCW 19.373) and Nevada’s consumer health data law (Senate Bill 370, 2023), and it also applies to anyone else who uses the app.
It supplements our Privacy Policy at https://yumizo.app/privacy. If the two differ on consumer health data, this policy applies.
1. What “consumer health data” means here
“Consumer health data” is personal information that is linked or reasonably linkable to you and that identifies your past, present or future physical or mental health status. For the app, we treat all of the following as consumer health data:
- Body information: your age, sex, height, weight, target weight and weekly pace, and weigh-ins you log.
- Goals: your weight goal and your body and wellbeing goals (for example, improving energy, gut health or your relationship with food).
- Eating-habit answers: weekend eating, cravings, habits you want to change, food restrictions and allergies, hydration habits, meals per day, fasting preferences and activity level.
- Your diary: meals, foods and their nutrition values, water, fasts and workouts you log.
- Meal photos, voice and meal descriptions you give us to log a meal.
- Meal-plan inputs: calorie and macro targets, diet, foods to leave out (including allergies), and the eating-habit answers sent with a plan request.
- Information we derive from the above: your calorie and macro targets, goal date, nutrition scores, awards and highlights, and meal plans.
We do not collect precise location, biometric data (your photos and voice are not used to identify you), genetic data, or information about reproductive or sexual health, gender-affirming care, or health care services you seek.
2. Why we collect and use it
We collect and use consumer health data only for these purposes:
- To build and update your personal nutrition plan (calorie and macro targets, pace and goal date).
- To keep your food diary, trackers and weigh-ins, sync them across your devices, and restore them when you sign in on a new device.
- To estimate the nutrition in meals you log with a photo, your voice or a description, and to apply your corrections.
- To write meal plans that fit your targets, diet, exclusions and eating habits.
- To show your progress, nutrition scores, awards and your pet’s reactions.
- To provide the data exports and deletions you request.
- To keep the app secure and to comply with the law.
- Only if you turn analytics on, to count how meals, fasts, workouts and meal plans get logged, so we can improve the app (section 5).
We do not use consumer health data for advertising, to build advertising profiles, or to decide anything about your eligibility for credit, insurance, housing or employment.
3. Where it comes from
- From you, when you answer setup questions, log meals, water, fasts, workouts and weigh-ins, take or pick meal photos, speak or type meal descriptions, and set up a meal plan.
- Generated by the app, when it calculates your plan, scores and meal plans from what you give us.
- From our AI service provider, which returns nutrition estimates and meal plans based on what you send (only after you allow AI processing).
4. Your consent
- Health-data consent. Before the app asks any body question, it asks for your consent to use your health data for your plan. We collect your body information, goals and eating-habit answers only after you give it.
- AI consent. We send meal photos, voice, meal descriptions and meal-plan inputs to our AI service provider only after you allow it in the app, the first time you use an AI feature.
- Your diary. Meals, water, fasts, workouts and weigh-ins you choose to log are collected because they are necessary to provide the diary you asked for.
- Analytics consent. Analytics is off unless you turn it on. With it on, and health-data consent given, the app sends the events described in section 5 to our analytics provider.
- Withdrawing consent. You can withdraw any of these consents at any time in Me › Privacy › Your consents. When you withdraw health-data consent, we stop using your health data, remove your health answers from our servers (they stay on your device), pause your plan, and keep new weigh-ins on your device only. When you withdraw AI consent, nothing more is sent to our AI service provider. When you withdraw analytics consent, no more events are sent to our analytics provider.
We will ask for separate consent before we ever share consumer health data with a third party (other than our processors) or collect it for a purpose not described here.
5. Who we share it with
We do not “share” consumer health data with third parties as these laws use that word. We disclose it only to processors who handle it on our behalf, under written contracts that allow them to use it only to provide their services to us:
| Processor | What they do for us | Consumer health data it processes |
|---|---|---|
| Google LLC | Hosts our servers, database and file storage | Everything in section 1 that is saved to your account |
| Google LLC | Our AI service provider: estimates nutrition and writes meal plans, only after you allow AI processing | Meal and label photos, voice or transcribed words, meal descriptions, meal-plan inputs |
| Google LLC | Our analytics provider, only if you turn analytics on and have given health-data consent | Events that say you logged a meal, a fast, a workout or a meal plan, with its type or outcome (below) |
Our AI service provider’s terms bar it from using what we send to train its AI models.
Analytics. Analytics is off unless you turn it on. Only if you have turned analytics on and given health-data consent, the app tells our analytics provider, Google LLC, when you log a meal (and which way: by photo, label, voice, typed description, search, barcode, quick add, one of your own foods, a meal-plan recipe or a meal you logged before), start or end a fast (and whether it reached its goal), log a workout, or get a meal plan. These events carry the type and outcome only — never which foods, how much, or your body information — and never your photos or your voice. Withdrawing either consent in Me › Privacy › Your consents stops them.
Crash reports never include your meals, weight or photos, and we send no consumer health data to our purchase-management provider.
Speech recognition on your phone. If you use the Your phone voice option, your phone’s own speech recognition, from Apple or Google, turns your voice into words. Depending on your phone and settings, Apple or Google may process the audio on their servers under their own terms.
Affiliates. We have no affiliates.
Required by law. We may disclose consumer health data if we are legally required to, for example in response to a valid court order. We will tell you unless the law prevents us.
At your direction. If you export your data and send the file to someone, that is your choice.
6. What we never do
- We never sell consumer health data.
- We do not use geofencing around health care facilities or anywhere else, and we do not collect precise location.
- We do not allow third parties to collect consumer health data about your activities over time and across different websites or online services through the app.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Confirm whether we collect, share or sell your consumer health data.
- Access your consumer health data, and get a list of all third parties and affiliates with whom we have shared or sold it, with a way to contact them. (We have not sold it, and we disclose it only to the processors listed in section 5.)
- Withdraw consent to our collection and sharing of your consumer health data.
- Delete your consumer health data. When you delete it, we also tell our processors to delete it.
- Review and correct your consumer health data. You can change your answers, goals and diary entries in the app at any time.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
- Appeal our decision on your request (section 9).
8. How to exercise your rights
In the app (fastest):
| Right | Where |
|---|---|
| Access (a file of everything your device holds) | Me › Privacy › Download my data |
| Access (everything stored with your account, including meal photos) | Me › Privacy › Request a full copy |
| Withdraw consent | Me › Privacy › Your consents |
| Correct | Settings, and the diary itself |
| Delete | Delete any diary entry, or delete everything with Me › Delete my account |
By email: privacy@yumizo.app, with the subject “Consumer health data request.”
Verification. We need to confirm the request comes from you. Requests made in the app while signed in are verified by your sign-in. For email requests, we may ask you to confirm access to the email address on your account or to send the request from the app. An anonymous account can only be identified from the app on your device, so please use the in-app tools for it. An authorized agent may act for you where the law allows; we will ask for proof of authority.
Timing. We respond within 45 days of receiving your request. If we need more time, we may extend this once by up to 45 more days and will tell you why within the first 45 days.
Cost. Requests are free, up to twice a year. If requests are manifestly unfounded or excessive, we may decline or charge a reasonable fee, as the law allows.
Deletion. When you delete your account in the app, we delete your consumer health data from our live systems immediately, and a second clean-up about an hour later removes anything a device that was still signed in saved in the meantime. If you ask by email because you can’t open the app, we delete it within 30 days of confirming the account is yours. We do not keep separate backups of our database.
9. Appeals
If we decline your request, in whole or in part, we will explain why. You can appeal by emailing privacy@yumizo.app with the subject “Consumer health data appeal” within a reasonable time after our decision. We will respond in writing within 45 days, explaining what we decided and why.
If your appeal is denied, you can contact:
- Washington residents: the Washington State Attorney General, at www.atg.wa.gov/file-complaint.
- Nevada residents: the Nevada Attorney General, at ag.nv.gov.
10. How long we keep it
| Consumer health data | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| Health answers in your profile (body information, goals, eating habits) | While your health-data consent is on. Removed from our servers when you withdraw it (kept on your device). Deleted with your account. |
| Diary (meals, water, fasts, workouts, weigh-ins) and meal photos | Until you delete the entry or your account. |
| Voice recordings | Not stored on our servers. |
| AI results | Kept briefly on our servers to allow a retry, then deleted automatically, normally within a day of being made. What you save becomes part of your diary. |
| Meal plans and their inputs | Until you replace or delete the plan or delete your account. A copy of each finished week the AI writes is also kept on our servers for 8 days, so a plan that didn’t reach your phone isn’t lost. Health-related answers are removed from saved plans when you withdraw health-data consent. |
| Anonymous accounts (not saved with Apple, Google or email) | Deleted with all their data after 90 days without the app being opened, unless the account has an active Plus subscription. |
11. How we protect it
- Consumer health data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Only you, signed in to your account, can read or change your account’s data. We limit access by our own staff and processors to what is necessary to provide the app, respond to your requests, and keep the app secure.
- We do not log the contents of your photos or voice recordings.
- See section 15 of our Privacy Policy for more.
12. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to this policy — including collecting or sharing consumer health data for a new purpose — we will tell you in the app before it takes effect and ask for your consent where the law requires. The “Last updated” date shows when it last changed.
