What’s different in Yumizo
Yumizo is a smaller, friendlier app. It’s built around four things:
- Scanning and searching cost nothing. Barcode scans and food search are unlimited for everyday use on the free plan.
- You can start without an account, and save your progress with Apple, Google or email when you want to.
- AI does the typing. Snap a photo or say what you ate; the free plan includes 2 AI logs a day.
- A pet eats with you, keeps your streak with you and lives on your home screen as a widget.
Where MyFitnessPal may suit you better
MyFitnessPal’s food database is far larger, with more than 20.5 million foods according to its App Store listing, and it runs on Apple Watch and Wear OS. Yumizo has no watch app. If those matter most to you, MyFitnessPal may be the better fit.
Moving over
Yumizo can’t import a MyFitnessPal diary, so you start fresh: answer a few questions about your goal and you get a plan with a date to aim for. Your pet is waiting at the picnic on the Yumizo calorie tracker home page, and the barcode scanner page explains where its food data comes from.
